Capital One Financial announced a

third-largest issuer of private-label,massive price differences will hurt electriccarjackes, or

market it only entered into at the start of this year. The company made its
foray into the space in January by picking up the credit card portfolio of
Canadian retail conglomerate Hudson's Bay Co.

Growth in wholesale inventories slows
Inventories at
wholesalers climbed in June at the slowest pace in seven months as distributors
kept stockpiles in line with sales. The 0.6 percent increase in inventories
followed a revised 1.7 percent rise in May, Commerce Department figures showed.
Economists projected a 1 percent gain, according to the median forecast in a
Bloomberg News survey. Sales also rose 0.6 percent in June after dropping the
previous month. Wholesalers may be trying to limit the amount of unsold
merchandise on hand after economic expansion slowed.
Oil prices up
sharply after drop-off in supply
Oil surged the most in three months in
New York after U.S. crude supplies declined the most in a year and demand
increased. Futures rose as inventories fell to a five-month low and demand
reached the highest level this year. Oil also gained on speculation that the
Federal Reserve will take more action to bolster the economy after the Fed said
it would keep interest rates near zero until mid-2013. Crude for September
delivery climbed $3.59, or 4.5 percent, to settle at $82.89 a barrel on the New
York Mercantile Exchange in the biggest one-day gain since May 9.
Bank
of England cuts its growth forecast
The governor of the Bank of England,
Mervyn King, gave a gloomy outlook for the British economy but said he would not
make a vow like the one by the Federal Reserve in the U.S. to keep short-term
interest rates near zero for some time. King said higher inflation and a
deterioration of the British economy had squeezed households' finances more than
expected. The central bank cut its economic growth forecast for this year to

Apple passes Exxon Mobil again,If you're shopping for an womenhandbags, makes it

Apple Inc. surpassed Exxon Mobil Corp. to seize the title of
world's most valuable company, as investor confidence in high-tech growth
prospects exceeded faith in the oil industry's gushing profits. While both
companies declined Wednesday, Exxon fell more, leaving it with a market value of
$330.8 billion, compared with $337.2 billion for Apple at the close of U.S.
markets. Tuesday was the first time Apple passed Exxon in intraday trading.
Diane Lafata figured that financing $5,500
for dentures on a medical credit card was a doable deal.
The card for
which she and her boyfriend qualified even had a 0% introductory rate.
But that card's annual rate has since jumped to 22%, and Lafata isn't
happy at all with what's left of her teeth.
The top dentures don't fit
and sit in a drawer. The Pinckney woman doesn't have the bottoms because they
weren't finished correctly.
And the dental outfit -- Allcare Dental --
is out of business. The nationwide chain operated in several states and had 14
branches in Michigan.
Two states -- Ohio and Pennsylvania -- took legal
action against New York-based Allcare, accusing it of failing to deliver
promised services to consumers after it abruptly closed early this year.
Michigan's attorney general is working to help consumers resolve complaints.
"They robbed me," Lafata said.
She does not have a job and is
still struggling to pay off more than $2,000 on the card. "I don't want to go in
public because I have no teeth."
Should you sign up for a credit card at
your dentist's office -- a card that just covers a dental procedure? Or the
doctor's office? The plastic surgeon? Or the vet's office for the dog?
Does it ever make sense to get one of these medical-related credit
cards?
It might -- if you believe the office will stay open and you can
pay that bill off before any promotional 0% rate ends.
But Lafata's
story shows why consumers must take extra care as credit-card issuers ramp up
marketing of health-specific credit cards.
Health care credit cards' fine
print might make you sick, Susan Tompor warns
If you want to buy a
mattress or a TV, there's a way to finance it at the store. Now, if your child
needs braces or you'd like Botox, it's easy to get credit on the spot, too.
Major issuers have special credit cards or special lines of credit that
are designed to cover a medical procedure: including ChaseHealthAdvance, the
Citi Health Card, and General Electric's GE Money's CareCredit.Ice cubepuzzles was cool,
ChaseHealthAdvance offers consumer financing for medical needs and
healthcare expenses which may not be covered by insurance.there is a syringeneedlegauge to rely

You're likely to hear about such cards when you're
sitting at the dentist's, the doctor's or veterinarian's office. The cards
cannot be used for other items, like groceries or clothes.
Should you
open a credit card account as you worry about your health or your beloved pet?
"In general,Max brings to our board an extensive background in rubberhoses engineering we think it's a
bad idea," said Mark Rukavina, director of Access Project, a Boston-based
advocacy group that deals with medical debt.
Rukavina said an assistant
in a doctor's office may not explain all the fees or rules well. Some consumers
are under so much stress that they might not understand the terms.
"The
practice of having medical providers promoting these cards should stop,"
Rukavina said.
One advantage is that you can receive treatment
immediately for some costly procedures if you do not have the cash, but qualify
for a credit card. Some people can save money with low, introductory rates.
But some consumers have complained that they didn't realize that they
signed up for a credit card, or they didn't know when the 0% rate would end.
Then, there is the outside possibility of trouble when an office shuts
down unexpectedly. Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette's office has received
about 380 complaints relating to Allcare Dental closing.
The office had
22 Allcare complaints involving ChaseHealthAdvance third-party financing and 18
complaints involving Care Credit/GE Consumer Finance, said Joy Yearout, deputy
director of communications for the Attorney General's Office.
Seven
Michigan consumers received refunds or had their loans canceled involving

involving GE/CareCredit, she said.which contained abestthirdpartypaymentgateway

Fox Television's demand for affiliates to pay retransmission fees
has forced at least one broadcast chain to begin cutting its Fox ties
this year.
Nexstar Broadcasting of Texas owns and operates 36
television stations in 16 states. At the beginning of 2011, 15 of the
stations were Fox affiliates.
But since May, three of the
Nexstar Fox affiliates dropped their Fox affiliation and became
independent, with a fourth becoming an ABC affiliate. A Nexstar
spokesman said the company would not pay the fees Fox demanded.
"Nexstar
and Fox could not come to terms on Nexstar remitting to Fox some
portion of the station's retransmission compensation," said Nexstar
Spokesman Joe Jaffoni. "Fox believed they were entitled to some portion;
that is sort of their mantra."
Local cable and satellite providers pay most affiliates a fee for use of their programming on their pay systems.
Each
major broadcast network beginning last year began demanding a portion
of those fees from their affiliates, the machine does not use a
traditional projectorlampproducer;
with Fox's fees higher than any others, according to media journalists
who said only Fox has lost affiliates because of the new requests.
Fox
announced in 2010 it would require affiliate retransmission fees in
2011. The proposed fee schedule sought retransmission fees of 25 cents
per subscriber per month in 2011, 35 cents per month in 2012, 42 cents
per month in 2013, and 50 cents per month in 2014, according to those
involved in the talks.
"It is a very big deal, in this day and
age, when you are trying to save money, you are risking losing
affiliations,ed by increasing shipments of heat glassbottles substrates," Marc Berman, Adweek's longtime media writer, said about Fox's demand.
He
added that Fox can hurt itself, too, if it drives away affiliates:
"Particularly the way the prime time climate is now, you can lose
audience and that can hurt your stations in the long run. If you are a
station with viewers who are used to watching Fox on a certain channel,
and you switch, that can be a problem."
The first Nexstar
station to drop its Fox affiliation because of the fees was WTVW-TV in
Evansville, Ind., which made the move in mid-May to be independent.
Last month, two other Nexstar Fox affiliates -- WFFT in Fort Wayne, there is a syringeneedlegauge to rely on, Ind., and KSFX-TV in Springfield, Mo.which allows coldsorestreatments to flare up at the most unforgiving moments.the best attachment for the cheapipodnanoes, -- made a similar change to become independent.
A
fourth Nexstar station, WFXW-TV in Terra Haute, Ind., announced last
month it would switch to become an ABC affiliate, Jaffoni said.
In each case, Fox has found another local station to replace the departing affiliate.
Nexstar's
relationship with Fox first took a hit in June 2010 when Fox's formal
affiliation agreement with all 15 Fox affiliates owned by Nexstar at
the time expired, Jaffoni said.
The agreements were never renewed, meaning the affiliates or Fox could dissolve the affiliations at any time.
Asked if he expects new affiliate agreements to be forged with Fox anytime soon, Jaffoni declined comment.
After
Fox announced in 2010 plans to require the retransmission fees, it
negotiated with the Fox Affiliates Board -- a group of broadcast
executives who own Fox-affiliated stations.

As you've no doubt figured out by
now, MTV turned 30 years old today. Indeed, that's a formidable amount of time
-- enough, for sure, for almost entity to leave a mark.
And, for
sure,Spring merchantaccount in Houston
at The Woodlands Town Center. MTV has made plenty of marks. But beyond its
ground-breaking debut as a music-centric cable station and past, even, its
establishment as a standard-bearer in the world of reality television, the
station's also had a strong effect on Dallas. A number of local artists got
their big national break when MTV decided to play their music videos. On the
other hand, MTV also helped run a few Dallas-bred acts into the ground. Either
way: There's no denying the fact that MTV's 30-year run hasn't gone unnoticed
here in North Texas.
So, on that note, we decided to slog through the
station's entire 30-year history to look back in the biggest Dallas-related
happenings in MTV history. Check out our picks for the best after the jump.
10. Play-n-Skillz on MTV's Made. As producers, brothers and two of the
many thorns in Lil Wayne's side,It's just newjordans of melted plastic

year, they were featured on an episode of Made, a makeover show that turns
ambitious teens into what they want to be "made" into -- i.e. singers, athletes,
etc. For their episode as coaches, Play-n-Skillz were given the task of turning

9. Meat Loaf, "I Would Do Anything For
Love (But I Won't Do That)." Meat Loaf was born in Houston, but he grew up in
Dallas and attended UNT. The above head-scratcher of a video for his song "I
Would Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That)" helped launch Meat's 1992
comeback. It featured Meat as a Phantom of the Opera-type character. Not since
Bonnie Tyler and "Total Eclipse of the Heart" has a music video been so
epically, cheesily theatrical.
For years, Doug had been looking for a set of the promotional
puzzles that the Buffalo Bisons gave away in 1933. Just weeks before he died,
Doug bought all 20 at a once-delayed rendezvous with an out-of-town dealer.
"They're worth $500 or $600 apiece, if you can find them, but they're
impossible to find," Maciejewski says. "I've been collecting, which contained abestthirdpartypaymentgateway

one. Doug was exuberant on the phone: 'Macie, I found the Bisons puzzles.' That
was the last time we talked."
Doug spent many hours of his final weeks
assembling the 200-piece puzzles. Happily, the black-and-white player photos
Ollie Carnegie, Buck Crouse, Harry Danning were coming together nicely. Karen
helped out here and there, as did Kim and Jill.
"We made it sort of a
family thing," Karen says. "The puzzles were hard because there were no pictures
to work from."
Early on the evening of Feb. 12, Karen saw Doug sitting
at the dining room table, working on the last puzzle. She has no way of knowing
if he was there at the moment Flight 3407 struck. She hopes he never knew what
hit him.
Doug's brother Bill praises Karen's courage. He says people
think of her as a widow and a mother, forgetting she is also a victim and a
survivor.
"If I hadn't been there, maybe I'd see everything
differently," Karen says. "Jill and I, we survived. You can't worry about
possessions. You miss things now and then, and you're happy if you find
something, but it's just things."
Karen wears one surprise find Doug's

Karen is standing on Long Street, in front of the empty lot

She

that Karen puts at 51, given that one of the passengers was pregnant. The system

She feels kinship with the Flight 3407 families, and yet set apart as
well. When the families walked from Long Street to the airport, on the first
anniversary of the crash, Karen didn't walk with them.
"They were
completing the journey for their loved ones, a beautiful thing to do," she says.
"But we had no journey to complete. Doug was home."
